These classes are designed for you to have one-on-one time with your child. The first half hour allows your child time to become acclimated to the room while allowing you time to interact with them or chat with other moms. The children will enjoy a variety of age-appropriate toys that are changed throughout the session.

The room is safe and clean for their enjoyment and your peace of mind. An art project typically using their feet is done twice a session and usually depends on the holidays during that session. This provides your home with creative artwork as well as a measurement of their growth.The core of the class is thirty minutes of music. Since we rotate through 3 CDs, we have a good balance of variety and repetition. Children learn the music best through repetition. We add props such as balls, puppets, maracas, bells, parachutes and bubbles to the music to make it visually stimulating as well.

Babysitting is no longer offered at Move & Groove Baby, but Funderdome will be offering a Mom's Morning Out on Friday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30. Call to register 954-525-1816. For children 1 - 4 years of age (must be walking). Children will enjoy Funderdome's state of the art toddler zone while you grab a bite to eat in their cafe with a friend or get a quick pedicure next door. Pre-registration is required.




Enjoy a clean, safe and fun environment with your child. Get out of the house, avoid the heat or rain, or meet some friends to play and chat! Best part is, we clean up the mess!! Offered every Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Birth - 4 years. $10.00 for one child $15.00 for two children (no charge if sibling is under 1 and as always, twins are 2 for 1)

This class has changed slightly and is now called Backs to Feet! We have extended the age in this class to include early crawlers. This gives them a safe environment to practice their new skill before advancing to the Movers & Shakers class. You may start as early as you feel comfortable in this class. Most new moms feel most comfortable around 6 - 8 weeks. It's a great way to meet new people sharing the same joys and challenges! This class generally has children from 6 weeks - 10 months.

Once they are crawling, they go to the Movers & Shakers class. In this class the children are crawling well, crusing and walking. This class typically consists of children from 10 - 18 months. Movers & Shakers is offered on Thursday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 am.

Supewalkers now either stay in Movers & Shakers or Tales & Boogie. We have expanded the age range to allow chldren to be in a class based on develpmental milestones as well as age. Based on the child's participation, we decide around the20 month mark where they are best suited. In all classes, they will enjoy a combination of free play and music.

For Baby & Me you are allowed 2 make-ups during the session that may be made up in open play by the second week of the next session. Kindermusik make-ups must be scheduled with Ms. Dee. All toys are cleaned between classes and we pride ourselves on maintaining a clean and safe environment. We do ask that if your child is sick, you kindly keep them home to prevent the spread of colds and viruses. Remember you do have your makes ups.

Socks must be worn on the classroom floor by adults. If you forget your socks, you may purchase them for us from a fee of $2.00. Children may go barefoot, wear socks or wear soft-soled shoes, such as Robeez on the classroom floor.

Strollers are difficult to navigate through the entrance and exit, so it's best to walk or carry your child in.

Tuition prices vary depending on session length and a one-time registration fee of $25 for new clients applies. As always, twins are two for one!

Cash, personal check or debit cards are preferred. Checks should be made payable to Move & Groove Baby for Baby & Me or Tales & Boogie and to Kindermusik w/ Ms. Dee for Kindermusik. We encourage you to make your payment prior to the first day of class to reserve your spot.

Any caregiver or family member is welcome in our class or to bring baby when the parent can not.

Kindermusik Village:

Who knew that you would find gazing into your baby's eyes the most exciting part of your day? In Kindermusik, we understand how precious this time is with your little one. That's why we created Village. In a Kindermusik Village class, we take those special bonding moments between you and your baby and add in a unique blend of musical learning activities that stimulate and engage all of the senses. Your educator will teach you how to encourage your baby's learning through vocal play, object exploration, instruments, and creative movement. You'll learn over 15 songs, lullabies, and nursery rhy mes, and play over 100 activities together by the semester's end.In class you will experience a variety of music, instrument play, dancing, quality time, and parent-child bonding. You will receive At Home Materials, which include a CD of music from class, literature board book, an age-appropriate instrument, and art banner. With the home materials, the learning continues at home with your child's best teacher-you!

Kindermusik Family Time:

Bringing children of all ages together provides a dynamic and integrated learning experince for everyone. So, we took favorite Kindermusik songs and activities like “Shake, Shake, the Apple Tree” and “hammocking” and rolled them into a fun, family class where each child is welcomed and valued and family “together time” is celebrated and cherised. Kindermusik Family Time is a great sibling class, too! In each class you will experience singing, assorted movement, story time, one big class/familyjam session each week, and musical concepts. The learning and fun continures at homewith the At Home Materials, which include a Family Activity Guide, Two CDs of music from class, two instruments, and two literature books.


Kindermusik Our Time:

For your toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world around him. Despite your toddler's seeming independence, he still longs for the safety and security of parental closeness. During this time, your toddler still relishes the comfort of the familiar while also seeking the challenge of something new. Kindermusik Our Time encourages her to be creative, to initiate her own ideas and to respond in her own ways, while your active participation gives her the security she needs. As you play instruments, sing, move, and explore, you'll uncover an engaging musical world while building your child's confidence, self-control and communications skills. In class, you will experience instrument exploration, ensemble skill development, vocal play, exploration time, story time early literacy, and movement activities. You will receive At Home Materials including a Family Activity Guide, two literature books, an instrument, and two CDs of music from class.


Kindermusik Sing & Sing:

From the moment you meet him, you want to understand your baby. What is he thinking? Is he hungry, tired, too cold, content? Early on your baby also has an innate desire to communicate with you. In a Kindermusik Sign & Sing class (developed by Signing Smart™), we give you the tools and knowledge to communicate with each other using American Sign Language. Through songs and play, you'll both learn signs for words like "mommy" and "eat," and you'll know if he wants "more" "milk" and when he's "all done." This research-proven signing class for hearing children speeds language development, eases frustration, and enhances long-term learning abilities.In class, you will play, sing, and sign. With over 75 sign language activities and games to play together, you will experience the joy of communicating through sign language. At Home Materials include a Family Activity Guide, DVD, and Clip-On Flashcards showing adults and children using signs.

Choosing a Class

The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your child's success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child's needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited for him.


Registration:

Although you may join our classes at any time, registering early is suggested since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Registering and paying at least 3 weeks before the semester begins ensures that I will have your child's materials for you at your first class. If you register after materials have been ordered, additional shipping and handling fees may apply. A registration form and payment must be received in order to reserve a spot for you and your child. Payment includes class tuition, at home materials and related fees , plus a one-time registration fee of $25.00. Payment in the form of cash or a check is preferred.


Refunds:

No refunds will be issued after the 3rd class in fall and winter sessions, and after the 1st class in spring and summer sessions, REGARDLESS of attendance. The total cost of materials (including S&H fees, and sales tax), registration fee, and a $16 processing fee are non-refundable. Please be advised that if the first class is missed, you will be charged for that class and it will be your responsibility to notify me with your intentions to reserve this space or receive a refund. If I do not hear from you, I reserve the right to give your spot to someone on the waiting list.


Make-up Classes:

Class will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up day.
Non-enrolled Siblings: Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay content in a car carrier.


Tid Bits:

You are allowed one make-up class in the spring and summer sessions, and two make-ups in the longer fall and winter sessions. Make-up classes must be done in another age appropriate Kindermusik class and completed within the session you are currrently enrolled. All toys are cleaned between classes and we pride ourselves on maintaining a clean and fun environment. We do ask that if your child is sick, please keep them home to help us prevent the spread of colds and viruses. Remember you do have your make-ups.

Check out Funderdome.net to find out more about this amazing Family Indoor Play & Cafe located on SE 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Funderdome is a nearly 9,000 square foot indoor playground including a rock wall, slides, ropes challenge course, interactive play floor and lazer maze. There is a separate area for toddlers that can be seen from the cafe allowing you to enjoy coffee or a meal while your child is having fun. They offer BIRTHDAY PARTIES too!!! Move & Groove Baby will be offering unique Baby & Me type classes as well as afterschool programs, camps, mom's morning out, kid's night out and homework help at Funderdome!!

As always we are collecting donations for Kids in Distress...they are in constant need of diapers, wipes, formula, baby food and items.....just drop items in front of the desk at our entrance when you come to class...thank you for all the donations so far!

We are also collecting gently used and new Children's Books for all ages. Room to Read is a wonderful organization that gets books to children all over the world!! Books may be brought in during your class time. A bin is conveniently located in the lobby.

Donnidra Pierce (Ms. Dee) was a Jazz Vocal Studies/Music Industry dual major at the University of Miami (FL), and completed her degree as a Jazz Studies major at Western Michigan University. She worked with Kim as a Baby & Me and Tales & Boogie instructor at Mind, Body & Baby in Fort Lauderdale. She enjoys an active schedule as a performer, and both a Baby & Me and licensed Kindermusik instructor. She has been singing professionally for several years now. Her performance resume includes singing for the Walt Disney Corporation as a member of Disney's All-AmericanCollege Jazz Band Singers where she performed with such legendary artists as Dianne Reeves, Toni Tennille, Marilyn McCoo, Rosemary Clooney, Maureen McGovern, and The Manhattan Transfer's Alan Paul. She currently performs with various corporate bands in the south Florida area. Donnidra is thrilled to share her love for music with little ones. Her excitement and passion prove contagious and make learning music a fun time for all!

Kim Balint (Ms. Kim) has been serving the community for almost 13 years now. She began at Holy Cross Hospital as a Childbirth Educator, Lactation Consultant and Baby & Me Instructor. After working at Holy Cross for 3 years, she opened Mind, Body & Baby in Fort Lauderdale and continued to provide quality care and services to her clients. Mind, Body & Baby offered everything from Prenatal Yoga, Childbirth Classes & Prenatal Fitness to Baby & Me, Tales & Boogie, Bee Bop Buddies, Mom & Baby Fitness and Lactation Consultations. Mind, Body & Baby proved to be a valuable resource to many families in town, but relocated in November, 2004. Encouraged by her loyal clientele, she now continues her business at Little Flower Montessori in Wilton Manors. Move & Groove Baby is an extension of her passion for children. She continues to provide that "personal touch" that makes Move & Groove Baby a place everyone enjoys bringing their child. Kim is also a Yoga instructor as well as a Youth Fitness Trainer.

Kristin Gundlach (Ms. Kristin) is our newest addition. After 2 years of attending Move & Groove Baby, Ms. Kristin joined our team. She spent many years in the corporate world before raising her daughter Abby and decided to help others by teaching the classes she has come to love. With her experience in HR, recruiting and training, along with her positive attitude, love of children and friendly demeanor, she is loved by both the parents and children.
